Benin

Benin, formerly Dahomey, officially the Republic of Benin, is a country in West Africa. It is bordered by Togo to the west, by Nigeria to the east and by Burkina Faso and Niger to the north.

Legislation

Any amount of cannabis is considered illegal by the Benin government with smoking, selling and production all prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Due to inadequate law enforcement, the government signed a Letter of Agreement with the U.S. in 1995 whereby the country was provided with additional resources and financing to combat the drug trade.[1]
