Franklin Pierce

Franklin Pierce was the 14th President of the United States (1853–1857).

According to High Times contributor Russ Belville, Pierce was "one of three military men to become president who enjoyed smoking marijuana with the troops fighting the Mexican-American War" (the two others being Andrew Jackson and Zachary Taylor). Pierce reportedly wrote in a letter to his family that smoking marijuana was "about the only good thing" about the war.[1]
