George Carlin in 2008

George Carlin (May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008) was an American comedian, writer, social critic, and actor.


  • Carlin's album Toledo Window Box (1974) is about growing marijuana. The album's front cover art features him wearing a shirt with a fully grown cannabis plant in a window box; the reverse cover art shows the back of the shirt, which has the buds and leaves trimmed off the plant.[1]
  • In 1998, Carlin was featured on the cover of High Times.[1]
  • In 2014, The Cannabist included Carlin in their list of "15 Famous Dads Who Love Marijuana".[2]
