Jamaica is an island country situated in the Caribbean Sea, comprising the third-largest island of the Greater Antilles. The island, lies about 145 km south of Cuba, and 191 km west of Hispaniola. Containing the island nation-states of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, Jamaica is the fifth-largest island country in the Caribbean.


Cultivation, retail and consumption of cannabis is illegal, however this is often overlooked and it is sold openly. As of 8 October 2013, the House of Representatives passed a motion to decriminalise the plant.[1]
