Name: Lemon Skunk
Creator: DNA Genetics
Variety: Hybrid
Lineage: Skunk x Skunk
Skunk #1 x Citral[1]
Flowering Time: 56–63 Days

Lemon Skunk is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain of cannabis developed by DNA Genetics using two Skunk phenotypes with extraordinary lemon characteristics. Bred as great strain for combating depression and stress, Leafly said of the strain: "The skunky, citrus flavor draws you in immediately, and the happy, energetic buzz will shake you out of any funk".[2]

The buds are dense but jut out unpredictably unlike the heads on most strains that are smooth. They also have a high calyx-to-leaf ratio making them easy to trim. Bright light green and an abundance of pistils, Lemon Skunk would be easy to mistake for a sativa if it wasn't so chunky said Jake Brown in his review for The Cannabist. While not effective as a heavy pain remedy, Brown said it had mild relief and could be the equivalent of a baby aspirin and a good strain for staying productive.[3]

Description by DNA Genetics

DNA Genetics offers the following description of the strain:

"This strain is a cross between two Skunks, the chosen phenotype selected for its lemon characteristics. The Lemon mother has been kept for over 20 years in Las Vegas and the father was chosen here in Holland. The male was donated by Eddie, formally the owner of one of the oldest and most prestigious seed banks in the Netherlands. This original prize male was selected and used in many breeding projects throughout the years. The Lemon Skunk will grow tall and is a good yielder. She has great smelling buds. Her buds are light green with thick orange hairs. She has a high calyx to leaf ratio. This strain is the tastiest and sweetest if she is cut down between 50 and 56 days. We would like to thank the Lemon Man and Eddie for making this possible!
